Starting year 2023, the San Juan local government aims to focus their efforts on the city’s commercial intensification through the proliferation of higher density mixed-use developments and vertical expansions. Along with the city's economic boom, there is a projected increase in population and vehicular density.

The proposed skywalk, San Juan Greenway, provides a long-term solution to vehicular congestion by improving pedestrian safety and convenience. It encourages recreational strolls around the city and invites tourists to discover more of San Juan’s hidden beauty.

This proposal by Spacefabrik aims to ease traffic and provide a safe and pleasant pedestrian transport network for students to go to school which allows them to be dropped off in different locations of Ortigas, thus minimizing the need to bring the cars all the way inside Xavier and ICA. The walkway also aims to help businesses and workers traverse San Juan's CBD to connect to major entry points and transport networks. On weekends, the Greenway becomes a social and exercise space reminiscent of the Greenhills we grew up in.
