In 2050 we see trains as the main mode of transport, but it will be a gradual development over a period of 30 years. Rail travel is a cost-effective and energy efficient alternative to planes and cars. Based on comparative analysis and case studies on the latest innovations on railway travel that are being developed in the present, we foresee the train station being equipped a smarter transport system, a self-operating transport system that are based on modular principles where the train buses/carts would be operated by a computer-powered jukebox.
